Are you creative? – Check with this test

With the irruption of artificial intelligence in the world of work, technical skills will have less and less important when we will search a job in areas such as graphic design or digital product in favor of other skills such as creativity or teamwork.

We all have a creative side that will be more or less developed depending on different factors. By means of a test we can know our creative level to put into practice habits that help us to increase it.


The following test has been extracted from the book I want to be creative by Harriet Griffey. If you want to learn more about the creative process, what elements are necessary and why it is advisable to develop creativity, I recommend you to read it.

Test to evaluate your creativity

How much creativity do you have?

How do you feel when you have time ahead of you, with nothing to do?

What inspires you the most?

  1. Anything can inspire me.
  2. It depends on how you have the day.
  3. Nothing inspires me too much.

Do you care what people think of you?

  1. No, respect for myself is more important.
  2. It depends, with some people more than others.
  3. Yes.

What motivates you the most?

  1. Get something you are satisfied with.
  2. Finish the job.
  3. Get paid.

Do you prefer to have a routine?

  1. No, it bores me.
  2. I am flexible and can work with or without it.
  3. Yes, I like to know what I’m doing.

How often do you exercise?

  1. I enjoy walking outdoors daily.
  2. I go to the gym when I can.
  3. I’m too busy for sports.

What is your idea of risk?

  1. Parachute jumping from an airplane.
  2. Presenting a provocative idea.
  3. Riding a bicycle without a helmet.

How would you like to spend your retirement?

  1. I am not going to retire.
  2. Doing something creative that I don’t have time for right now.
  3. Lying on the beach.

How often do you meet people outside your social or work circle?

  1. Constantly.
  2. Sometimes, but it’s hard for me.
  3. Never.

Results of the test to check your creative level

Most options 1

What feeds your creativity is an integral part of your life. If you are not yet working in the creative sector, you should consider how to apply the more creative aspects of your personality to your work life or studies. You may need to focus a little to bring some of your ideas to fruition.

Most options 2

You seem to have creative potential, but it is still untapped. You use your creative virtues but intermittently. However, you show involvement in an idea and work on it to make it a reality. You may not be noticed, but you have the capacity to develop your creativity in any area of life.

Most options 3

You don’t call on your creative side when it comes to a project, although perhaps there is something in you that you would like to explore and even express. In such a case it is advisable to find ways to feed your creativity, such as learning about new subjects, talking to people outside your social circle, reading, etc…

How can you improve your creativity?

There are many creative techniques that can help you to improve it and put it into practice in your daily life. It is also advisable to know what to do in cases where a creative block appears. If you want to learn more about creativity in all its fields I advise you to read one of these books to train your creativity.
